In the Name of Allãh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful “Truly! To Allãh we belong and truly, to Him we shall return”
(Al-Qur’an, 2:156)
Here at West Midlands Cemetery we are proud to serve the Muslim community in Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
We are a privately owned and operated cemetery, already acknowledged within the Muslim community for the quality of service we provide and for our deep understanding of the unique requirements of a Muslim funeral.
As local authority cemeteries run out of space, we are pleased to provide you with a new choice for generations to come. Our 26 acre site will provide fitting memorials for your parents, yourselves, your children and your children’s children.
Working closely with the Birmingham Muslim Burial Council, we have adapted our operating procedures to ensure:

- We can carry out prompt burials, ideally within 24 hours
- We allow shroud burials in keeping with the traditions of the Muslim faith
- We have a designated Muslim area with the appropriate orientation of graves
- We have strong relationships with funeral directors familiar with Muslim funeral procedures
- We have procedures in place to protect mourners and funeral staff during the Covid19 pandemic
- We are live-streaming funerals at no cost so that extended family and friends can witness proceedings in the safety of their homes
Feedback from mbmc
“West Midlands Cemetery’s commitment to service is second to none; from their communication with Funeral Directors to the care and empathy with which they deal with bereaved families. It’s refreshing to see the lengths this cemetery has gone to to understand the needs of the Muslim community and to accommodate all Muslim burial rights and practices into their procedures. I know I echo the thoughts of the many Muslim families whose loved ones are buried at West Midlands Cemetery when I say should the need arise in the future, I would not hesitate in using or recommending the services of Essington Cemetery.”
