About West Midlands Cemetery
West Midlands Cemetery opened in April 2019 and has already helped over 100 families to create a fitting, respectful memorial to their loved ones.
West Midlands Cemetery is owned and operated by Respects Bereavement Services, who are also developing the new Greater London Cemetery near Harlow which is opening in late 2020.
Why are we different?
Being a privately owned company means that none of the restrictions or service limitations of local authority run cemeteries need interfere with your family’s experience. A bereavement is difficult for any family to cope with, so we are here to provide you with as much information, help and emotional support as we can during the funeral process and beyond.
One of the most important ways in which we can help our Muslim Brothers and Sisters in the West Midlands is by taking away the worry about whether a burial plot will be available when you need it. Unlike local authority facilities, we enable you to purchase the right to bury in advance so you can be sure that, when the time comes, each generation of your family can rest in the same location. There is also a financial benefit to making these arrangements today rather than leaving it for the future – prices of burials have been rising at 6% a year for more than 30 years so by locking in today’s prices you will save a lot of stress and cost for your family in the years to come. Have a look at our current prices here.
We are always working to improve the service we offer and the facilities we provide. At present we are making plans for the installation of a multi faith building which can accommodate for the performing of Salaatul Janaza as well as having Wudhu and Ghusl facilities which will enable the entire funeral service to take place on site. We are also growing our operational team and will have a Muslim member of staff present on Saturdays and Sundays to show you around the cemetery and help you choose the plots for every generation of your family (out of hours burial available between 4pm – 6pm during the Summer).

What people are saying
“Christian and the team at West Midlands Cemetery have been phenomenally accommodating of the needs of families during this Pandemic. Whether that has been pre-preparing slots in readiness, arranging last minute burials or anything else, nothing seems like too much trouble for Christian’s team. I foresee Essington as a place of choice in the future for families to use, and I am pleased by their plans for the facilities which are on the roadmap.”
