Funeral Service
West Midlands Cemetery has developed relationships with many funeral directors across the West Midlands who serve the Muslim community. We would be pleased to recommend one of our partners to you to take care of the funeral arrangements for your loved one.
Our operational team works closely with the funeral director to ensure that every aspect of the service is handled with dignity and respect, including:
- The legally required paperwork to enable burial to take place
- Collection of the deceased from either home, hospital or hospice.
- Ghusal (washing and shrouding of the deceased under the supervision of qualified personnel).
- Transfer of the deceased after Ghusal to the home or mosque, if required and as requested by families.
- Salaatul Janaazah at the cemetery or the mosque by prior arrangement.
- Burial.
Our Recent Open Day for Muslim Funeral Directors

In keeping with the requirements of the Muslim faith we focus on shroud burials and our burial staff are trained in the appropriate procedures.
“I recently arranged a burial in West Midlands Cemetery, nothing was too much trouble for Catherine and the team. Information and documents were sent across in a timely manner and they were more than happy to talk to me should I need any clarification or reassurance. The family involved were also pleased with the Cemetery and were happy to have found such a resting place for their loved one.”
