Industry Involvement

Respects Bereavement Services

Respects Bereavement Services is actively involved in the funeral sector to ensure we are always fully up to speed with new developments and current regulations.

This has proved to be particularly important during the recent Covid19 pandemic as rules around the conduct of funerals have changed repeatedly in line with government guidelines.

West Midlands Cemetery is an active participant in two of the largest industry bodies in the funeral sector – the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (https://www.fbca.org.uk/) and the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (https://www.iccm-uk.com/)

West Midlands Cemetery was opened by John Proffitt, the Secretary of the FBCA and one of our VIP guests at the opening was Sofia Allana, a senior officer of the ICCM.

You and your family can rest assured that we are in the forefront of all developments in the bereavement services sector and that our policies and procedures are in line with the latest expert thinking.

As well as our membership of these industry bodies, we retain some of the most experienced cemetery managers in the country such as Rick Powell to advise on operational procedures in general and the specific requirements of the Muslim community.
