 Help with funeral expenses

Below you will find links to information and advice about Government help towards burial and funeral costs.

  • Bereavement-support-payments🔗  may also be used for funeral costs. These may be available for people under state pension age whose husband, wife or civil partner has died, depending on the National Insurance contributions made by the person who has died.
  • The Children’s Funeral Fund🔗  administered by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), also helps bereaved parents with the cost of burial or cremation and makes a contribution towards the cost of a coffin.

 Stillbirth And Neonatal Death Charity (SANDS)🔗 

This charity supports anyone affected by the death of a baby and promotes research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

 Muslim Bereavement Support Service🔗 

The Muslim Bereavement Support Service is a non-profit organisation serving the Muslim community by supporting them in times of grief after suffering bereavement.

 Children’s Funeral Fund Factsheet🔗 

Did you know that you can claim for funeral costs for a Stillborn baby after 24 weeks until the age of 18 years The funeral fund is not means tested and is effective of 24th July 2019. Read more by downloading our factsheet above.

 National Burial Council🔗 

The National Burial Council is the umbrella organisation that incorporates the majority of providers of burial and funeral services to the Muslim community across the UK.

 Paid Parental Bereavement Leave (“Jack’s law”)🔗
