Help with funeral expenses
Below you will find links to information and advice about Government help towards burial and funeral costs.
- Funeral Expenses Payments🔗, Budgeting Loans🔗and UC Budgeting Advances🔗are available for those claiming qualifying benefits.
- Bereavement-support-payments🔗 may also be used for funeral costs. These may be available for people under state pension age whose husband, wife or civil partner has died, depending on the National Insurance contributions made by the person who has died.
- The Children’s Funeral Fund🔗 administered by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), also helps bereaved parents with the cost of burial or cremation and makes a contribution towards the cost of a coffin.

This charity supports anyone affected by the death of a baby and promotes research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
Muslim Bereavement Support Service🔗
The Muslim Bereavement Support Service is a non-profit organisation serving the Muslim community by supporting them in times of grief after suffering bereavement.

The National Burial Council is the umbrella organisation that incorporates the majority of providers of burial and funeral services to the Muslim community across the UK.
Paid Parental Bereavement Leave (“Jack’s law”)🔗
